VAPA week! Meaning that your children will have Science, Theater, Dance, & Art rotations this week. Ask them about those sessions.

Some of you will meet with me virtually for either the 6^th grade parents’ meeting on Tuesday or the School Site Council meeting on Wednesday.

All are cordially invite and encouraged to stop by in-person for the Principal’s Coffee this Thursday starting at 7:45 to about 9AM. We will have our Coffee Cart in the Food Arbor. Remember that these get-togethers serve as ELAC and PTO general meetings as well. We keep them casual and fun and you get to hear about what is going on and coming at school.

Free weekly Covid testing for staff and students continues on Fridays at Valley Vista. This free and convenient service helps protects us all and gives us peace of mind. This also fulfills the sports teams’ need to test weekly in order to play intermural sports. I am attaching the link here:  https://school.covidclinic.org . If you have not already done so, use this link to register & place your children’s test order. Once that is done, the order will repeat itself every week after that.

Son reuniones informales en ambiente pero también oportunidades para escucharan sobre lo las actividades de la escuela y lo que está por venir.

Las pruebas de Covid para el personal y los estudiantes continúan los viernes en Valley Vista. Este servicio es gratuito y conveniente y ayuda a protegernos a todos. EoY testing begins next week for a couple grades and will continue through May. Our District sent information about State testing to parents before Spring break – that parent letter is attached here for your reference. Attached also is our school’s full, Kinder-6^th grade EoY testing schedule so families with children in different grades can have the whole picture.

This is what we need from you, which we actually need every school day, but more so on your children’s testing days:  

• Encouragement in the form of smiles and positive & affirming words
• Please get your children to school on time every school day
• Make sure your children get a good night’s sleep on school nights
• Ensure they eat a healthy breakfast at home or at school
• Help them come to school with a happy disposition

We’ll take care of the rest. Testing will occur only in the mornings. The rest of the day is for learning and preparing for our Multicultural Fair.

Our Multicultural Fair will be May 20^th. All classes will be preparing some type of performance. If you have a song or dance that you could share & teach our students, reach out to your teachers to let them know.

We are also looking for artists that can help us beatify our school walls with positive & colorful phrases all around campus. Please let us know if you can help or if you know of someone that can.

Las pruebas de fin de año comienzan la próxima semana para un par de grados, pero seguirán este mes y durante el mes de mayo. Nuestro distrito envió información sobre las pruebas estatales antes de las vacaciones de primavera. Adjunto esa carta aquí para su referencia. Adjunto nuestro calendario completo de pruebas que incluye todos los grados de kínder a sexto para que las familias con hijos en diferentes grados tengan toda la información.

Este evento familiar, la Feria Multicultural será el 20 de mayo. Todos los estudiantes estarán preparando algún tipo de actuación para ese día. Si tiene usted un baile o una canción que podría compartir y enseñar a nuestros estudiantes, comuníquese con sus maestros y hágales saber.

Estamos también buscando artistas que puedan ayudarnos con un proyecto para alegrar las paredes de nuestra escuela con frases positivas en colores alegres. Háganos saber si usted puede ayudar o si conoce a alguien que pueda hacerlo.

Our last quarter (Q4) of this school year begins tomorrow, Monday, April 4^th at 8:15 AM. Please note that dismissal tomorrow will be at 1:30 PM, minimum day dismissal. Be sure to make the necessary arrangements for your children to be picked up or have a place to go at 1:30 tomorrow, Monday.

On Tuesday, one of our District School Board Members, Trustee Kate Bishop, will be visiting our school. She would like very much to meet with parents, virtually on Tuesday from 5 to 6 PM. She has done this with many schools right before a Board Meeting and at the meetings, shares the wonderful things about each school she visits. Our School Dine Out at Red Robin is tomorrow, Wednesday the 16th! Use the attached flyer for us to get credit for your purchases. Just show the flyer and Valley Vista gets a percentage of profits from sales this Wednesday.

We will be distributing Covid Home Test kits for every one of our students this Thursday, March 17^th. These are so that every student can be tested before we return to school on Monday April 4^th after Spring Break. These kits need to be handed to adult family members; we cannot send them home with our students. Please make plans to drive-by to pick up your children’s test kits during any of the following three (3) times on Thursday:

Parent-Teacher Conferences are in full swing. That means we are on minimum day schedule every day this week. Please make sure you have made arrangements for your children to be picked up at 1:30 PM Monday through Friday.
