We are looking at 2 full weeks of classes of Distance Learning to finish off this 2nd Quarter of the school year. If your child has been participating consistently and following through with assignments, as most of our students have, celebrate that and encourage that persistence for the next 2 weeks to get us through to our Winter Break. If your children have not been consistent and are struggling to stay motivated and on top of their learning, have a talk with them, cut a deal with them, get to the bottom of what it will take to get them engaged. We all know this is not ideal, but it is working when you and your kids buy into it with your teachers. We’ve heard of Covid fatigue, my concern is Distance Learning fatigue – I think that is real! So, let’s recommit for these next 2 weeks to Distance Learning. We can do this and get the most out of it – then we will have a well-deserved break to enjoy.

En español: Estamos frente 2 semanas completas de clases para terminar este segundo cuatrimestre del año escolar en Aprendizaje a Distancia. Aunque esta manera de aprender no es ideal, podemos aprender mucho. Si sus hijos han estado participando constantemente y cumpliendo con las tareas y los proyectos, celebre eso y anime esa persistencia durante las próximas 2 semanas. Si sus hijos no han sido constantes y están batallando para mantenerse motivados, hable con ellos, haga un trato si es necesario, llegue al fondo de lo que necesiten para involucrarlos en su aprendizaje de nuevo. Cuando usted y sus hijos le echan ganas y se unen con sus maestros, hacen que este tiempo valga la pena. Me preocupa que estemos llegando a un tipo de cansancio del aprendizaje a distancia. Por lo tanto, volvamos a comprometernos de nuevo durante estas últimas 2 semanas. Podemos hacer esto y aprovecharlo al máximo; y después disfrutar de un merecido descanso sobre el final del año.
