Parent-Teacher Conferences begin this Thursday (10/15) and will continue throughout next week as we reach the end of the school year’s first quarter. Class schedule’s will remain as usual this Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Once conferences begin, on Thursday, you will notice that teacher-student live teaching will be minimized to 2 hours per day. Our students should have enough asynchronous assignments to keep them practicing their learning for the whole class time, but teachers will not be monitoring class after 10:30 AM since they will be meeting, one-on-one, with parents everyday for Parent-Teacher Conferences 10/15-22.
We have over 340 responses in the Selection of Learning Options survey! Results of those who responded thus far, are running roughly 40% selecting to remain in Distance Learning and 60% ready to start school in-person when that becomes available. If you have not responded as of yet, please do so as soon as possible. The link to the survey can be found in this school blog by scrolling down to the post dated October 6th.
Since we now know that in-person school will not be starting on the 26th of this month, I would like to see about a group of volunteers that may want to work with me painting book shelves and possibly other items around our school. Our District maintains everything in good shape but they do not do it in bright colors and that is what some of us want to see. So, if you are able & willing, and especially if you have experience in this kind of renovation, please join me on Tuesday 10/ 13, at 4 PM to start discussions on what we can do before kids come back to school in person. Las conferencias entre padres y maestros comienzan este jueves y continuarán durante la próxima semana a medida que lleguemos al final del primer cuatrimestre del año escolar. Los horarios permanecerán como de costumbre este lunes, martes y miércoles. Sin embargo, una vez que comiencen las conferencias, este jueves, notará que la enseñanza en vivo entre maestro y alumnos se reducirá a 2 horas por día. Nuestros estudiantes tendrán suficientes asignaciones de estudio para que sigan practicando su aprendizaje durante el tiempo de clase normal, pero los maestros no estarán monitoreando después de las 10:30 ya que ellos estarán en conferencias con cada de nuestros padres todos los días a partir del 15 de octubre.
Tenemos más de 340 respuestas en la encuesta Selección de opciones de aprendizaje. Aproximadamente el 40% de esas respuestas prefieren permanece en aprendizaje a distancia y el 60% están ya listos para comenzar la escuela en persona. Dado que ya sabemos que la escuela en persona no comenzará el día 26, me gustaría comenzar platicas con un grupo de voluntarios que quieran y puedan ayudarnos a pintar varios libreros y de más en nuestra escuela. Nuestro Distrito mantiene todo en buen estado, pero no lo hacen en colores vivos como algunos queremos ver. Entonces, para los que estén dispuesto, y especialmente si tenemos padres que tengan experiencia en este tipo de renovación, por favor únase a una junta este martes 13, a las 4 pm para comenzar pláticas sobre esto.
